I finished linking the new menu to the terrain/variables. Now when you hover over a planet, it displays real information about the planet, including the name! |
This involved pulling out several functions and variables, and moving them to a global script so they can be accessed from any scene. I used a multidimensional array to store all the randomized data. There's about 300 total constants. It was a lot of work, and hopefully worth it!
Next, I'm trying to figure out how to make the planet models/textures in the menu, look more similar to the actual environments that are created... seems tricky, but at least I have the variables to work with now.
