I started scripting the interface... |
I always dread this part of development, because I don't like Unity's UI system. I made a quick test using the old UI system and I think I'm going to use that instead. The old system is so much easier to use... I was able to setup a vignette, panels, buttons and text headings - all in about 2 hours.... that probably would have taken me several days to accomplish using Unity's current UI system.
The buttons don't have actions attached yet. I need to figure out how to handle details like inventory buying/pricing/etc. But, considering how well this test is working, I'm pretty excited to continue the progress, and will probably be finished with the interface sooner than expected!
