I got the 3d wind to work... |
The course starts with random wind, the forces are applied to the ball and particles, and an arrow attached to the camera shows the direction of the wind.
I also started working on a second course to test a few other things... like, a rectangular terrain, which I'm going to avoid because Unity squishes the terrain tools if its not square. I tried to see if a single texture would have enough detail to cover the whole terrain, because that would be much easier to design, but as I expect the texture quality is too low when its stretched over the entire terrain, so I'll be continuing to use different splat textures for terrain/course.
Finally, I did some minor work on the cameras... the game will likely have several different camera views and modes.

The creation of the first course was mostly improvised. I'm trying to plan the second course better, by starting with an overhead drawing, then I'll use that as a rough template for the course when I paint the textures and heights in Unity. | |
