I really want to make a golf game...

I've never actually played golf in real life, but I love the digital games and the relaxing nature of the game. It was one of the first games I tried to make when I started using Unity. Unfortunately, I found the physics in Unity to be really unreliable and terrains don't have enough precision to allow the ball to do natural things, like rolling around the edge of the hole, or consider things like wind or curvature...

I suspect most golf games are built with a combination of 2d and 3d based physics. I'm really not sure... it's something I've been interested in learning for a long time...

My game Stones Throw scratched that itch for a while, it's basically golf on water, but I think it would be fun to make a more traditional game and figure out how to program it.

I always question myself when I get these urges, because does the world really need another golf game? Is there anything that I could do better in my game? Probably not, so I shouldn't waste me time, but I really want to try.

The creation of the first course was mostly improvised. I'm trying to plan the second course better, by starting with an overhead drawing, then I'll use that as a rough template for the course when I paint the textures and heights in Unity.
