Updates - Posted on: 5/28/2016   [Friction]



This project has been extremely challenging. Recent computer problems and issues with work haven't made things any more fun. Still, I've managed to make some cool updates...

  • Colliding into something does damage, like an obstacle or another player. (I tried to base the damage amount on the player's speed/velocity but for unknown reasons, it won't work.)

  • I tweaked the new player models. (Now, I'm wishing I could animate them. It would be nice if the wings and fins and things moved individually!)

  • I'm still having issues with weapon firing on the client-side, so I'm going to implement "object pooling" - hopefully that will resolve the issue. It's already working server-side, just not client side!

Different player vehicles have been added. I had to rework the custom network behaviors to allow for a "character select" variable. I also started working on the character select screen.
